I spent a day traveling South of Ohio to a power plant I’ve never visited before, but had heard a lot about. “John E. Amos Power Plant is a three-unit coal-fired power plant owned and operated by Appalachian Power, a subsidiary of American Electric Power (AEP). With a nameplate rating of 2,933 MW,[1] it is the largest utility in the AEP system (link).”

The plant is located in Winfield, WV, but the most starking views of the facility can be found across the Kanawhahee River in the towns of Poca and Raymond City.
